12 Goals For 2012

This year, instead of having one resolution for 365 days, I decided to make monthly goals. 12 Goals for 2012 reflects things I want to work on and improve upon in the next year. From working on my friendships and relationships, to getting more involved with the community and politics, to personal goals and hobbies, I'm going to be keeing you all updated as I accomplish or make progress on them. I hope you all have amazing goals for the next year and are inspired and encouraged by them.

I can't wait to bring in the New Year, and truly make this my best year ever. Happy last day of 2011, darlings! May all your dreams come true...

Home For Christmas

Spending this Christmas with my family and the man I love has been the biggest blessing. I'm down from Portland in my hometown of Jacksonville, and it feels perfect. My whole family got together to enjoy all the best of the Christmas festivities, and spend time with those we love most. From the candle-lit service at church to playing games and singing carols, this was one of the best weekends of my life. I wish you all a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

FAR

Well hello again! I can't believe it's winter already. The last few months have been a whirlwind of change, from starting a new job at a bustling salon, to partaking in holiday festivities and enjoying time with my loved ones. The blog has suffered and for that I appologize!!! Things in my life are really looking up. Despite my lack of attention to Seablanket Handmade for the time being, I've been graced with a boatload of opportunities despite of it. This Monday, I get the opportunity to be the face of one of my favorite local accessory brands for their 2012 lookbook. I've worked on some really fun and interesting freelance styling projects where I've had to create entire outfits from scratch for different photographers and magazines. I even had the opportunity to intern with a blog and lifestyle photography mogel for a few months, and enjoyed learning and growing from her. Thank you for standing by through this dry spell. Come January, expect frequent fashion styling content, street fashion snapshots and as always some fun d.i.y. projects to make your home and clothing on the edge of design.

New Maps

I'm finding pleasure in the simplest things. With almost one year in Portland under my belt, I decided to treat myself to the cheapest makeover a girl can buy: red lipstick. I know many of you have already jumped on the ruby train, but I'm coming into it for the first time excited and feeling fresh. It's amazing what a little oomph in one's makeup routine can do to transform one's look, even one's attitude. I'm excited about this little adventure and the confidence I hope it brings. I know it's early, but I'm looking forward to another year here, come what may.

I'm hooked. Instagram was one of those things I tried to stray away from for the longest time, simply because I didn't want ANOTHER social media addiction. Then I downloaded it and it opened my eyes to the simple joy of sharing what I'm seeing with friends. I like it so much more than Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr combined. Dances With Wolves

Huskies, huskies, huskies. Guess what kind of dog I want now?! I spent last week house-sitting for a friend who owns two incredibly handsome wolf pups, and all I could do was cuddle up with them. Mr and I have been playing house, making meals, feeding the chickens and playing with the huskies as much as we can. What a fun and relaxing get away from real life. It's going to be difficult to adjust back to my old house and petlessness.... I think I know what I'll be asking Santa for this year!

Walking On A Dream

Today marked 6 months with the love of my life and my best friend. I have grown so much since Mr. and I began dating. The joy I feel when I'm with him is indescribable and gets better with every moment. We have made huge strides together. Experienced joy and sorrow together. Traveled and explored together. Crafted and created together. Loved and laughed together. I'm beyond blessed and so in love.

I Spy

I'm on the hunt for the perfect pair of frames. I've avoided the concept of wearing glasses for two reasons: 1. I hate going to the optometrist, and 2. I wore glasses for the first 13 years of my life and really wanted to avoid that whole "hot-pink thick round rim" scenario for good. However, lately my schedule has been changing and I've realized that my vision is severely effected when I'm tired. Sooo I'm looking for a fun pair of frames that will only enhance my personality and wardrobe all the while not overshadowing my face. I need your help!!

I found this great site called Warby Parker, where (like TOMS) with each pair of glasses purchased, they give a pair away to a person in need. I love the idea and the frame selection is current, trendy and good quality. I've selected my top 3, but before I order I'd like some outside opinions.... what do you think???

Gold On The Ground

I finally went to the pumpkin patch, brought some hot buttered rum and snapped some lovely photos of the beautiful day. I love supporting the local farmers, and the produce they sell is always sweeter, brighter and better than any store-bought produce.
