Spring Cleaning + DIY Coat Rack

When I was younger, my mother taught me a very valuable life lesson:
"Respect the things you own, and they will last longer, look better and be more special to you."
Of course it was told to me at the age when I didn't want to clean my room and loved living with my clothes in piles on the floor, etc. but it really made an impact. Since then, I've tried to always keep my car clean, clothes washed and on hangers, my jewelry polished and my spaces organized. It's become a matter of pride that when I buy something new, I give it a new home in my organized spaces, a place it will always return to when not in use.
I know many people aren't this way, and I understand that for one reason or another, I've been both cursed and blessed with my obsessive compulsive tendencies. However, in an attempt to aid in your spring cleaning woes, let me present you with a practical, functional way to stay organized and clean while adding some charming art to your space: A DIY coat rack
Supplies Needed:
An old board, prefreably a used 2x4' or 2x6' found at an old junk yard or wood center. A handful of old knobs, handles and hooks found around the house or at any thrift store. Hanging hardware and tools.
Cut wood to size using a saw if needed. Determine which side of your board will be the front and which will be the back. On the backside, attach hanging hardware, just like you would on a heavy piece of art. On the front side, lay out your knobs, handles and hooks and play with the arrangement until you find the order you like best. Make sure to spread them out across the whole board. Attach using screws or nails, whichever is required.
Next, find a good practical location to hang your coat rack. Finally, throw all your coats, purses and hats onto it. Ta-da. Spring cleaning made easy!
