Building Our Home

58 days until my wedding!! The wedding plans are all in place, and most of the decor/details are complete... now, I'm playing the waiting game. Mr moved into our new apartment a few weeks ago, and I cannot wait to move in as well. We've spent the last few weekends painting everything white, cleaning and collapsing at the end of a long day. We picked up two old butcher boards from a recycling center that we plan to turn into a beautiful dining room table. It's all falling into place. More than ever I feel the yearning desire to learn how to cook incredible meals for my soon-to-be husband. I've found a handful of inspiring and seemingly simple recipe websites for all things appetizers, entrees, drinks deserts, even healthy snacks and feel a new confidence for whipping up a meal. (I'll let you know how my first big meal goes *fingers crossed*)
For now, I'm prepping our kitchen and home for an inspirational dining experience. I can't wait to incorporate all my ideas into one great dining experience!
Wish Listed:
1. all the food dishes on this website // 2. a gorgeous cheese plate and knives // 3. charming dishes // 4. these copper utensils are a must have // 5. french press // 6. an apron to make messes in, and look good in

Smitten

So many of our talented friends have asked to photograph Mr. and I durring our engagement, and our dear friends Luke + Mallory did the same. They were visiting from Colorado, and though it was gloomy, pouring and windy, they made our love glow brightly. Thank you to Luke + Mallory for such wonderful photos, we love them! YOU'RE INVITED : Our D.I.Y. Wedding Invitations

Mr. + I fell in love through postcards, so using vintage postcards for our wedding invitations was an obvious choice.
Mr and I began our relationship long-distance. He was touring and I missed him so, occasionally a post card would find itself into my mailbox. Each one so perfectly jam-packed that it would've been simply impossible to fit another word onto it. These were the moments we were falling in love.
Once engaged, we sought high and low to find enough postcards to invite all of our loved ones on. Each card was handpicked, and ooh'd and awe'd over before we decided to purchase them. Nothing is more wonderful than when work becomes play. We gathered 200x postcards and chose to stamp our information on the backside. We purchased d.i.y. stamps at Staples, and built our own message to press in to each card.

We are thrilled with how they've turned out. Each one is unique, and no matter how silly or goofy or pretty, each one was handmade with love. We can't wait to mail them out this week!

Words to live by...

Spring Cleaning... done right

Last Summer, when I was working with Seablanket full time, I picked up a side job with a dear friend being an Eco-friendly housekeeper. It was tough work, but after learning about the proper products to work with, it made our job that much easier. Not only did we leave the homes sparkling, we left them user-friendly for  pets, babies and people with hypersensitive allergies. It was a rewarding experience that left me with an appreciation for safe cleaning, and how cutting back on time and chemicals really can do the trick. I hope this helps some of you on your way to a safe and easy Spring Clean of your own!
