Look Of The Week

I love the juxtaposition of urban bohemian and classic leisure in this outfit. A plaid cotton maxi dress paired with a Chanel tweed handbag... ultra stylish and ever so effortless. This wins the Look of the Week! (click through the image to view many more street style inspiration at Carolines Mode | Stockholm Street Style)
To achieve this look, couple your relaxed long dresses and skirts with structured classic pieces like a tan trench, basic pumps or black patent leather handbag.
Enjoy your weekends!

Look Of The Week

This week's look of the week goes to this sidewalk stunner. Yes, it's winter, but again, I'm enjoying a little bit of leg with my outfits lately. She's pulled it off beautifully, with the soft scalloped shorts contrasting the weight of the leather motorcycle boot. Plus that over-the-knee sock is divine.
Thank you to Kelli Murray for your darling fashion inspiration! Here's how you can get this look:
A structured blouse in a loose fabric like silk or cotton is a staple this year. Left un-tucked on top of some flowey draped lace or scalloped shorts or a skirt will bring out the charm in both pieces. Motorcycle style boots, or Doc Martins look so badass, but when paired with a warm and welcoming texture such as knitwear socks, all threat melts away and leaves pure, awesome looks.

Look Of The Week

The comfiest looking fashionable outfit I've seen in a while. This windblown beauty has it going on. The shape of her pieces, while oversized do not add volume to her build, but instead compliment and hug it so nicely. The length of her skirt is perfect for winter, and the chunky accessories add a lot of personality to the rather bland pieces. Also - her natural makeup is so becoming, a great change from the dark tones of her outfit. From head to toe, this doll wins the Look of the Week!

How to attain this look for yourself:
The Sweater:
Most of us can't throw on a bulky cable-knit sweater and not feel as though it's added a good 30lbs to our figures. Instead of looking for bulky, look for a longer sweater that has some stretch in it. It will hug your figure instead of overshadow it - making it a very nice accent piece to any outfit.
The Skirt:
This lampshade, mini-pleated look of the 60's and 70's is going to be huge this year. Taking this opportunity to score a floor-length maxi dress or skirt with this feature is only going to save you in the near-future. The lovely neutral gray tone accents her Navy sweater while remaining understated enough to balance the hundreds of pleats.
Accessories:
Her lovely exposed wrists in the cool weather gives the perfect opportunity for heavy jewelry. Chunky accessories are perfect for winter, because they won't come off as gaudy or overstated when paired with knits, cashmere and wool textures. Don't forget her plaid scarf tucked away in her bag for warmth, which carries the navy tones and ads a playful print, while the fur (hopefully faux) around her neck really softens the sweater. Toss on some cozy and comfortable pieces that pick up your color pallet, even a pair of boots can look chic when paired correctly.
Makeup:
Her neutral makeup and free hair really top the look off. From head to toe she is polished and her neutral, yet highlighted face completes the subtle chic vibe she evokes. You too can turn heads with the less-is-more spring makeup trend.

Look Of The Week

Who says shorts are only for summer. This look kills with all the modern trends, and 100% comfort. You too can achieve this look with some simple styling techniques:Outdoorsy footwear is going to go far... rain boots, moccasins, or any suede and leather boot will perfectly offset the ladylike pieces. The unshapely oversized fit of the sweater is countered by the feminine burnout lace effects. Satin, velvet, lace or leather short at a high rise will give the ooh-la-la factor of legs for days. Top the look off with a giant oversized scarf in any color for warmth and mystery. What makes this look so appealing? She's not revealing a lot of skin, just some legs in the dead of winter, trust me, it's a good thing no matter how pale you may feel.

Look Of The Week

The perfect winter party look. When pulling off one color, without looking like a giant crayon it's important to mix and match textures. In the Look Of The Week, this darling lady pairs a wool hat and cape with leather pants and metallic accents. Very chic.

Why does this look work? The little styling accents are what sets this look apart. Notice her rolled cuffs to expose a little more skin in a subtle location. How her cape is worn unbuttoned, but her arms are exposed outside of it, with chunky jewelry and a polished manicure that sets the whole look off. It's as chic and sexy as bat woman!
If you'd like to achieve this look, aim for the two key pieces. A pleather | leather skin-tight pant (make sure you roll your cuffs), and a thigh-length cape, with arm holes. The rest will fall to the basics. A black wide brimmed hat, chunky accessories and a great pair of black pumps.
