Colorado: Day 3

Our third day in Colorado was spent with family and enjoying Mr's hometown. In the evening, we traveled up the road to Fort Collins and enjoyed the view from a beautiful reservoir. It was one of my favorite parts of the trip and by far one of the most lovely.

Colorado: Day 2

Colorado Day 2 was so much fun and the majority of our day was spent with his family and doing what we love most: Mr + I headed to his favorite hometown tattoo parlor where we both got something new!
He has been working on an amazing half-sleeve, and was able to complete it with an old-fashioned wooden arrowhead and the Colorado state motto, "Nil Sine Numine" (translated from Latin to read: Nothing without God). My piece was a last-minute decision, but it felt so right and turned out amazing. 
Day 2 was wrapped up by having dinner with Mr's entire family and getting to know them was truly a treasure. I can't wait to share the rest of our trip with you!!

Colorado: Day 1

I'm finally back from my trip to Colorado. It was an amazing adventure and so much fun! Day one was a great kickoff to a wonderful trip. Mr & I had the morning off where we slept in, grabbed brunch and yummy mimosas, took pictures and played games in the Portland International Airport.
I had such butterflies about this trip. Mr took me to Colorado to meet his family and friends for the first time (the mimosas helped in this aspect) so I had crazy nerves, but I knew I'd love them all. We hopped a red eye late Thursday night and were on our way to the Mile High City...

Packing Woes

I'll be honest: I suck at packing. Every time I go anywhere I always over pack and end up using only about 50% of what I brought with me. This is true of my day today as well. I'm leaving tomorrow to visit Mr's family in Colorado. The last time I was in Colorado I wore a training bra and braces, so I'm really excited yet have no idea what to expect. I decided to solve all my packing woes by using a suitcase that doesn't make me feel like I'm cramming it all in, but instead leaves room for me to bring more!!

Regardless of my over packing addiction, I've decided that I love packing because it means travels, adventures, new friends and so much more. I can't wait to enjoy a lovely week in Colorado, and hopefully not freeze my butt off!

12 Goals For 2012

This year, instead of having one resolution for 365 days, I decided to make monthly goals. 12 Goals for 2012 reflects things I want to work on and improve upon in the next year. From working on my friendships and relationships, to getting more involved with the community and politics, to personal goals and hobbies, I'm going to be keeing you all updated as I accomplish or make progress on them. I hope you all have amazing goals for the next year and are inspired and encouraged by them.

I can't wait to bring in the New Year, and truly make this my best year ever. Happy last day of 2011, darlings! May all your dreams come true...

Home For Christmas

Spending this Christmas with my family and the man I love has been the biggest blessing. I'm down from Portland in my hometown of Jacksonville, and it feels perfect. My whole family got together to enjoy all the best of the Christmas festivities, and spend time with those we love most. From the candle-lit service at church to playing games and singing carols, this was one of the best weekends of my life. I wish you all a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
