{Back To School Hairdo's}

Yay, it's Fall! Kiddos are heading back to school and I'm falling into the "routine".. coffee, work, coffee sleep. One thing that I find incredibly irritating is the constant day-to-day hairdo that I've always got. Here are a few new looks I've been playing with and really love for fall. Braids all around, here are my back to school hairdo's!
Meet Becca, one of my dearest friends. With the help of her and her beautiful hair, I was able to photograph some step-by-step shots of how to attain these looks! Look for Becca in the near future as she'll be modeling some of the vintage fashions for SB!!! Look, we even wear our moccasins on the same day! Now, onto the tutorials:
1. Chic Fishtail Braids
Use two sections on either side of your head. Fishtail small braids towards the back of the head. Select small pieces of hair along the way to slip into each fishtail braid. These will keep the braid stable and in a straight line. Once both braids meet the back of one's head, clip, pin or tie with a small hair tie. So chic and natural! {please note the red leaves - yay fall!}
2. 60's Inspired Ribbon Braid
Begin by teasing the upper back section of your hair to make it voluminous. Next, place large ribbon across your crown and tie around back. Using your ribbon ends as one of your 3 sections, begin to french braid hair down. Tie ribbon off and the end. Gorgeous, eh!?3. Heidi Wrap Braid
Beginning with a low ponytail, braid an over-the-shoulder braid. Wrap around one side of your head and pin the ends to your head with a bobby pin. Tie a scarf around your head, and make sure it covers the pinned ends. Keep a bow in the center or slightly to the side for that sweet little look!
Super cute and oh-so-simple. Hope you all enjoy!!

{trendy thursday: 60's revisited}

le sigh. the magic of 1960's hair and makeup continues to amaze me. I've posted both hair and makeup tutorials resembling the likes of brigitte bardot, but here i am again. the 60's takes the cake as being my favorite fashion decade thus far, i really cannot seem to shy away from the subject. now, without further adeu, below are some of my favorite replications of 1960's hair and makeup!

a single man's stunning sweethearts: aline webber and julianne moore. both replicating the bardot eye makeup and stunning hair.

{Manic Monday: Crop Top Envy}

If you follow my twitter, you know that I've been debating this haircut:I have decided against it, only for 1 reason... my sister is getting married in October, and I know that deep down, she'd rather I have all my hair. I've decided that for this Manic Monday, I will focus on the fun and funky dos I am loving right now, in hopes that one of you will get these hair styles, so that I may live vicariously through you. See how that works?! lol. Enjoy!!

Side Buzz:

Pastel Pop
Quail Quaf
So many cool things to do, I just am not cool enough to do them!! Someone, please take the plunge for me...these styles are ammmmazing!

Hope you all had great weekends.
