American Outlaws

From the legendary Southern Civil Rights Movement, author Danny Lyon also chronicled his travels as a member of the Chicago Outlaws Motorcycle Club. In The Bikeriders, Lyon's shows us his journey around the midwest as a road warrior in the 60's and 70's. This set of photos has been and will remain some of my favorites of all time.I never get tired of these photographs. Makes me really want a motorcycle of my own again... I think I'd definitely want this one if I did invest (Deus Ex Machina)... I need to put my motorcycle license to good use next summer!

Wildcard Wednesday: Influencers

I've noticed that a lot of people have been tweeting and blogging about art, design and fashion documentaries lately. I think we can all thank NetFlix streaming for having "Beautiful Losers", "Helvetica", "September Issue", "Cool School", "Bomb It" and many other amazing docs just a click away. I wanted to share this short documentary with you that I thought was awesome. Its called Influencers and has a lot of people who inspire me in it.

"There’s not a rule book, there’s not a manual, there’s something inside saying this right when I sketch this or put these two fabrics together that feels right for me. So real cool sh*t is when people aren’t looking at you. You know when no one is looking and when the cameras are off, what are you made of when you’re by yourself. That’s kinda like the essence of cool for me."

Would you be doing this, wearing this, listening to this, drinking this, eating this, tweeting this, or blogging this if people weren’t watching? Are you the Influencer or being Influenced? Food for thought...

Whats in My Fall Makeup Bag

Each season, I take the time to re-evaluate what makeup I'm incorporating into my every day look. This season, I really want to pull back from unnatural tones and focus on illuminating my fair skin and highlighting my features. Taking inspiration from the makeup used in the fall collections by Rodarte, Thakoon, Alexander Wang and Chloe, I have narrowed my Fall makeup bag down to a handful of incredible products that enhance instead of hide the skin beneath it.
-What's in my Fall Makeup Bag-
1. Tinted Lip Conditioner in Petting Pink, by MAC
2. Lash Blast Fusion Mascara in Brown/Black, by CoverGirl
3. Matte Eyeshadow in Bamboo, by MAC
4. Matte Eyeshadow in Rust, by MAC
5. Shimmer Eyeshadow in Romp, by MAC
6. Smart Shade Concealer in 010 Pale, by Almay
7. Select SPF 15 Foundation in NW15, by MAC
8. Prep + Prime Eye Primer in Light, by MAC
9. Brow Zings Eyebrow Shaping Kit in Medium Brown, by BeneFit
10. That Gal Brightening Face Primer, by Benefit
11. MAC Face Brush #109, by MAC
12. Blush Creme in Lilicent, by MAC

As a whole, I really enjoy the autumn tones seen in my new bronze and brown color pallet. I'll post a tutorial on how to apply this Fall look yourself, and which items are a must have for a day-to-night Fall look! Check back in tomorrow for it, and enjoy! Xxoo Chelsea

wildcard wednesday : a portland adventure

My trip to Portland over the weekend was an absolute joy! I do love visiting, but don't think I'll be able to for quite a while, so I tried to make this trip count. Below are some photos I took while in the Bridgetown:
The overall weekend was rainy and typical of a Portland Fall and I loved it. Seems like my second home! Are any of you from Portland or do you ever visit? What are your favorite things to do while there?

{Wildcard Wednesday: Pretty Black and White}

I'm in awe of these stunning photographs by Mark Shaw found in an issue of Vanity Fair from 1953. The mystery of the faceless women is so alluring and the movement of the dresses make each image come to life! Aren't they a dream!?

{Wildcard Wednesday: Wedding Bells}

Hi everyone! Thank you for bearing with me as I took time from blogging for family and to enjoy my lovely sister's wedding. The ceremony and reception were incredible and more photos will follow shortly, but for now here are some candids from the weekend and the behind the scenes shots. It was incredible!
On Saturday, we had a flower party with all of my sister's friends. Each of us made 4 bouquets with tons of flowers. They turned out so lovely!Saturday evening came the rehearsal and lots of stomached butterflies.
and Sunday....my beautiful sister became a beautiful bride. I've never seen her look as happy as when she said 'I Do'. Tres romantic

{Wildcard Wednesday: Ford Times 1959}

I stumbled across this incredible set of illustrations from Ford Times November 1959 Issue. It's a stunning prediction of the future from those of the past. Can you believe this was a marketing strategy?? Artist Charles Harper painted these homes designed by Rudy Hermes as photomontage backdrops to introduce the 1960 Fords.
Isn't it just magical?!

wildcard wednesday: indian summer

Can't help but be wild about Indian Summers right now....the last heat of summer - when the sunsets are wild with color and the evenings are a tad chilled. I think I'll be wearing long dresses, face paint and feathers in my hair the next few weeks to celebrate. Below are some Indian Summer inspiration looks I'm loving:
