I've always loved the Charlie Brown Christmas movie and that adorably pathetic little tree they sing around in the end. This year, I adopted a little synthetic tree as my personal project. It came pre-lit so i pooled some scrap fabrics, some trinkets and some elements found out about town and made up my own Charlie Brown tree!
I made a fun little tree skirt by tying an over sized scarf around the base of the tree. The knot added a whimsy touch I think. Taking the traditional paper chain concept, I used scrap fabric strips to make a darling little tree chain. Fold little loops, sew and add another loop. Easy as pie! These little red berries i found on a tree outside were perfect for making these bright little ornaments. By using some embroidery floss and needle, I strung a berry and little bow made out of some thick hemp rope together and tied the ends of the floss. Some vintage skeleton keys added that extra oomph I was looking for. I'm a firm believer that a bow makes everything pretty. This hair-bow is the perfect tree topper for my sad little tree. It was a noble attempt at a Christmas tree in my current situation but I can't wait to have a real big one next year... so many ideas! xxoo Chelsea
