Inked. Final Product

My sleeve is all healed and complete. I loved documenting the process on my blog and wanted to present the final product in all it's glory. After 5 sessions and countless hours of pondering the design... here she is:Look at Mr. Nicola Tesla, looking all mysterious..I love his little mustache!
My feather is one of my favorite parts....the goldenrod and purple tones compliment one another so beautifully!
My little Indian girl and fawn both get freckles when I stand in the sun...it makes me smile. As I've said before, I really love large bodies of water, and had to include some wooden waves as part of my piece.
I'm so happy I committed to getting a full sleeve. It's not altered how I dress or if I wear patterns or not, if anything it's been a killer accessory to all my outfits. If you're thinking of getting a large piece, I would tell you that it's not a life or career altering choice. I can cover it easily and no one would know, unless I want them too!

Day 1 - What I Wore

I'm home, I'm home! My move went so swimmingly...I mean, as good as it possibly could. I've been experiencing an overwhelming joy since landing in this fair city and I'm excited to let it flourish as I settle in and learn it inside and out.
My house is adorable, and has the prettiest wood floors and glass doorknobs. My new work office is great, and I'm very pleased with the weather...mildly sunny and a crisp 36 degrees! I'm overwhelmed with all the changes, but I can assure you, you'd all love this city so much. Tweetup/Blog meetup should be scheduled soon! It's worth seeing firsthand.
{What I Wore: Vince Camuto Booties, J. Crew Tights, Painter's Touch Pencil Skirt from Anthropologie, Handmade Tunic Blouse, and my favorite vintage leather + cotton belt and Samsonite Travel Bag.}
There's already a Winter Weather Advisory out for Wednesday that says Portland will be getting 10" of fresh snow. I am crossing my fingers! I'd love to have a little snow day (or three)! I am looking forward to sharing the week's activities with you each Sunday in addition to the Sweet Sunday Playlists. Get excited, Seablanket is here to stay! Xxoo Chelsea

Moving Day

Off to Portland, where "young people go to retire." Can't wait take you on the journey with me, I'm far too excited for this. I'll be back Monday with a new post from my new city and hopefully the beginning of a fun new outlook on life. Can't wait.. and for the the last time from Southern Oregon, xxoo Chelsea
P.S. If you aren't from the west coast or even the United States, here's a good (exaggerated) look into the place I'm soon to call home.

Into The Woods

It's my last full day in my hometown, Jacksonville. Tomorrow, I pack up and move north to Portland, Oregon - I'm getting so excited. It's been 4 years since I last lived there and I can already foresee this being a much better experience.
I'll miss so many things about living in Jacksonville. Living with the woods at my backdoor is always something I'll treasure. The woods are snow-less at the moment, but you can still see their beauty. I can't wait to visit and romp through them in the summer months. I've got to say, of all the places I've traveled, it's always been a pleasure to call Oregon my home.
{What I Wore: Faux Fur Military Cap, G-Star Raw Trench Coat, Lace Kelsie Blouse, Blank Denim, Matisse Pirate Boots, GoodWood NYC Necklace}
Goodbye, little country town... I'll be missing you! Portland or bust! Xxoo Chelsea

New Year // New Hair

Finally, I'm able to show you all my new haircut! I love it soooo much, I think it might stick around for a while. I chopped almost 5 inches off the back, but now it's SO healthy and shiny and happy... if Leigh saw it, I think she'd be proud of me! Here's to a new year, a new city, a new home and a new look!
What I Wore: Vintage fuchsia velvet shift with collar (a new favorite). Knee high socks, J. Crew. My favorite wedge booties, from Kelsey Dagger. Faux leopard pea coat, another incredible vintage find.
I can't wait to hit the vintage shops in Portland to re-stock the Seablanket Etsy Shoppe with brand new Spring finds... but until then the Seablanket Moving Sale reigns. Check it out if you haven't yet! I've got a busy week ahead, here's to hoping we all have a good one. Xxoo Chelsea

Dear 2011,

Thank you for beginning brightly. 2010 and I had a good time - traveling, making new friends, making dreams come true. I hope you are even better! I've never been one to make New Year resolutions but in the spirit of the day, let me share my goals for the year with you:
I aim to be more genuine than ever before, to myself and others
I aim to take more chances and grab opportunities when they are presented
I aim to represent the woman I feel I am inside
I aim to travel to near and far
I aim to find strength inside myself (aka. exercise my physical body, and my mental one)
I aim to grow close friendships and express my gratitude to them
I aim to be better in the kitchen, a mini Julia Child perhaps
I aim to watch something grow - a garden, animal, relationship, whatever it may be
I aim to love unconditionally the life that I've been blessed with
Thank you 2011, for presenting so many wonderful opportunities. You already rock my world.
Sincerely,
Chelsea
