Moving -- Again!

Moving, once again (blah). I'll still be living in Portland, just moving in with some new friends into the cutest house that was built in 1904!! I've been brainstorming ways to convert my new space into the perfect home for myself and the SB studio. I can't help but making lists, and you'll understand why after seeing my inspiration photos... call me simple but I just swoon for aged wood floors, white walls and bohemian / minimalistic styling!to-do:

-create "exposed ceiling beams" on my vaulted ceilings

-build a wooden headboard, made from an old door, or fence posts

-create custom clothing racks out of huge rope and metal conduit piping

-sew tapestries into over-sized throw pillows

-paint walls a crisp white/gray color

Moving Day

Off to Portland, where "young people go to retire." Can't wait take you on the journey with me, I'm far too excited for this. I'll be back Monday with a new post from my new city and hopefully the beginning of a fun new outlook on life. Can't wait.. and for the the last time from Southern Oregon, xxoo Chelsea
P.S. If you aren't from the west coast or even the United States, here's a good (exaggerated) look into the place I'm soon to call home.

weekend wrap-up

This weekend was incredible! I was able to spend so much time with one of my closest friends, Kevin of Chemistry of Cool! Thursday evening, we went to an Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros concert...it was so much fun! I've never seen a crowd so enthusiastic and genuinely fully of joy! Friday, I worked from Kamp Grizzly, then went on a hike and saw Scott Pilgrim(highly suggest it). Saturday, my sister and I moseyed about the city. It was a lovely, long day. Saturday night, I went to Kevin's house where he made me vegetarian dinner and cupcakes and i was extremely impressed - no food poisoning!! Sunday, I met up with some new friends from Seattle, and had lunch and frozen yogurt! Later, I met up with my good friend Jacque and we went to the Jenny and Johnny show. I also met a sweet reader, tabitha!
Amazing weekend, food, friends, shows, sister//sister time, and I was so sad I had to come home!!! Can't wait till next time PDX!xxoo chelsea

what i wore to:

Jenny and Johnny!I was able to see Jenny & Johnny at the Doug Fir over the weekend. Jenny is as cute as ever and yes, Johnathan Rice still melts my heart! Since I wasn't able to post an outfit on Monday, here is what I wore to the show!!I found this darling plaid dress at Fringe Vintage on Northwest Marshall street in Portland over the weekend. It was quite a bit longer when i got it, but i tend to cut my dresses shorter and this was no exception. The fabric has this bubble texture that can' t be captured on film but is so fun to wear! I paired it with green trimmed white knee-high socks that my sister let me borrow, and my favorite pair of vintage boots! My favorite cocktail ring plus a grandpa-styled leather belt made this outfit complete!!! It was fun and so comfortable for the show and allowed me to bop and sho-wap with the rest of the crowd!
If you are interested in visiting Portland and are looking for vintage shops, I suggest you check out Shop Vintage Portland, a blog all about Portland's vintage options!!

{Weekend Follow-Up}

This weekend was fantastic! I had an amazing time in Portland, OR with friends and my sister.
Friday, my sister, her boyfriend and myself had dinner at the Doug Fir Lounge. It was delicious and we had a lot of fun catching up. After dinner, we headed to Dr. Dog at the Wonder Ballroom, one of my favorite venues in Portland. We met up with some friends and enjoyed the brilliance of one of our favorite bands. The show was amazing, such high energy and crisp performances, I loved it. My favorite part of the whole show was when they encored with "Heart it Races", an Architecture in Helsinki cover. Made my heart melt!

Saturday, I went over to Atlas Tattoo Parlor for my appointment. Spent 5 hours there, and ran out of time but got all the outline and shading done from my elbow down. Excited for my next appointment in a few months, where we'll finish and color my full arm. It's so close to being done!!
The design I got this time around was a man/bear inspired by Nikola Tesla. I absolutely love how my artist captured his face, especially the eyes..

After the tattoo, I headed on down to Kamp Grizzly, for the Johnny Cupcakes Suitcase Tour Party. I met up with my favorite G ever, Kevin from Chemistry of Cool, and got to chat quite a bit with Johnny. The party had an awesome cupcake cannon, great people and sweet treats. It was a joy to attend, and kick it with some of my favorite people.

I have so much respect for this little guy...

So sad the weekend had to end, I always get sad when I have to come home and leave my sister. She's my best friend, and this weekend was really fun to share with her. I'll post more tattoo photos once my arm is less swollen, scouts honor!!
