{tutorial tuesday: golden feather crowns}

i think you all may be spotting a trend in my recent tutorials....headbands maybe?? i don't know what's come over me, but I can't resist them! this week, i have created a golden feather crown that makes me feel like a native american princess!! follow the simple directions below and have a golden feather crown of your own in just minutes!supplies needed:
metallic gold spray paint, gold colored wire and wire cutters/pliers, pins, hemp, scissors.
----------------------------------------------------------------
directions:
start by braiding your hemp into an adjustable headband. take 3 equal length pieces of hemp about 2' long and braid them together. once you've braided the whole 2', form into a circle and fasten ends onto opposite facing sides of the circle. this will make the hemp headband adjustable and functional for different hairstyles (double pieces of hemp for a thicker, more sturdy braid).
using your push pins, attach the end of each feather to your painting surface. if you do not pin them down, while spraying the paint, the feathers will blow away. begin by spraying your gold metallic paint onto one side of the feathers; let dry. flip over and paint the other side - let dry. trim off the stem of each feather.use your pin and push a hole through the end of each feather. place your gold wire through each hole. form wire into a ring with your wire plyers and attach to one side of your hemp headband. once all feathers are attached, adjust headband size and enjoy!!too cute, right?! i hope you all enjoy this cute and easy little headdress! if you make one of your own, please email pictures!
