{Tutorial Tuesday: DIY Summer Headbands}

Nothing is better for a convertible ride, a breezy day, or an afternoon by the pool than sweet little headbands. These summer headbands are fun, simple to make and completely adorable. All you need is lace or ribbon, some elastic and scissors.
Begin by cutting a piece of ribbon that fits around the crown of your head, and a 5" piece of elastic.
Next, sew your elastic onto the ends of your ribbon. Stretch your elastic as you sew, so that the ends of ribbon meet in the center of your elastic. This will bunch the back end of your ribbon, but do not be discouraged, once the headband is on your head, it will look perfect and without a wrinkle.
I added feathers to my headband by cropping the feathers into a point so that they are only 3 or four inches long. If you'd like, you could try buttons, flowers, or recycled jewelry bits.
Tack the feathers or decals onto your ribbon. Make sure they are not directly in front, but more to one side, where it will be more flattering.
I added a bow on top of my feathers to disguise the ends.

I also made a headband out of extra large rick-rack ribbon and some daisy lace I had laying around. The look is fun and summery. I love it!
Let me know if you have any questions! Tomorrow is Q & A day, so make sure to drop by my formspring!
