{Tutorial Tuesday: Antiqued Glass Lanterns}

Welcome back to D.I.Y day! My original tutorial for today will have to be postponed due to a lack of fabric, but I will be posting it Thursday - keep and eye out!For now, I will show you all a fun tutorial which is perfect for fall. A wind-proof antiqued glass lantern! Using basic materials found in any grandmothers cupboard, you can transform a mason jar into a lovely lantern that will withstand the elements for any of your fall outdoor activities! This particular DIY is how we are creating lighting for a long pathway at my sister's evening outdoor wedding this October! It'll be so pretty!Supplies Needed:Elmer's glue, small sponge paint brush, small bowl, mason jars, water, and a variety of vintage tissue papers; old maps, patterns and book papers would all work as well!
---------------------------------
Antique Glass Lantern: Begin by pouring 1 parts elmer's glue into a bowl, followed by 2 parts warm water. Mix till glue is blended into water and doesn't settle to the bottom. Coating your sponge paint brush with the glue mixture, apply a small amount to the inside of your jar, covering about 1/5th of the interior. Tear apart your choice of paper and apply inside the coated area of your mason jar. Repeat, leaving no blank space. Once you've covered the coated areas of your jar with paper, proceed around the rest of the jar, making sure to include the bottom and the inside lip of each jar. Let your jars sit overnight to dry. After 24 hours have passed, add a tea candle, light and set about to guide your way through dark places!These lovely jars can be used as center pieces, placed on windows or fire places and are very stable. I love how all of mine turned out, and I love the old-world vibe they evoke! Abby's wedding will be dazzling in glowing lantern light from these darling antiqued glass lanterns!
