{Manic Monday: Curvy Girl Summer Trends}

Welcome back to Manic Monday!! This week is for any of you out there who are full figured. I was asked via email to do a post for the curvy ladies and give suggestions for summer styles that will be flattering and cute! Please keep in mind that these are just my opinions, and I am no fashion expert. Let's get started!!
Summer is party season. Either for weddings or birthdays, it's good to have a party dress around for these occasions! When shopping for a party dress, keep three things in mind; a fitted top, accentuate the waist, a skirt that flows away from the body. The combination of these three will always bring out the best of your curves. All three dresses above have the 3 elements desired. Obviously, heels will always enhance the length of one's legs, so instead I've paired them with flats. The hint is to wear a flat that has a subtle point or oval toe to make one's legs look thinner and longer!! Rounded toes only make you look shorter.

Channel Christina Hendricks for the party dress look. This Mad Men superstar has been the queen of the red carpets the last year, and always follows the 3 rules for dress shopping. Take a peek:{images of Christina via google images}

Summer is full of opportunities for adventure. These outfits would be comfortable and flattering for a day in the sun.
Outfit #1: for the sophisticated lady who's all about town. The mary-jane oxfords have the subtle point that is perfect for elongating the leg, paired with the lamp-shade skirt adds a flirty flow from the waist down. A light-weight tank tucked into the skirt with a waist belt polishes off the look, and would be comfortable on any warm summer day.
Outfit #2: For the girl on the go. Keds are always a girl's best friend when running errands or discovering the perfect picnic location. Paired with a comfortable t-shirt and flowy skirt with a waist belt, this would be a great day to night look.
Outfit #3: for the happy campers. Ladies, when you travel or go on day trips, who's to know what to expect. Wear a pair of great knee-length trouser shorts, in a structured cotton fabric. Pair with a long flowy tank and waist belt. Comfortable oxfords are the classy addition with a fun print.

Summer fun isn't complete without a great swimsuit. With varying patterns, styles and necklines, one pieces are all the rage this season. Consider hip and waist ruching your best friend, as it smoothes over any un-loved shapes you may have in those areas... who wouldn't love that? The vintage styles are everywhere this season, so consider Marilyn Monroe your personal style guide to swim. Her size 16 self was the star of the decade. Everyone had the Marilyn fever, and her swimsuits were AMAZING. It's all about confidence, ladies!{images of Marilyn via google images}

I hope you enjoyed these fashion tips. If anyone else has special requests for Manic Mondays, please email me and let me know. I'd love to be helpful!
