Welcome welcome to this week's Tutorial Tuesday!! This week, I will show you how to transform a simple men's button up shirt into a cute summer halter top. I wore mine this weekend, and it was so comfy! Take :30 minutes and create one of your own with these simple steps!
Supplies Needed:

Men's Button Up Shirt
Scissors
Push Pins
Sewing Machine
Shoe Lace/Chord/Ribbon
Step 1.

Cut the each arm off and straight across the neck area. We will re-use the sleeves, but you can put the neck area with your other scrap fabrics.
Step 2.

Cut along the seam on each sleeve. Lay them out flat, one atop the other.
Step 3.

Pin along the edge of one side of your sleeves. You will sew them together, in a straight line. This will merge the two sleeves into one, large strip of fabric.
Step 4.

Next, trim along the bottom of your merged fabric, in a straight line, so it measures about 5" or 6" tall.
Step 5.

Sew along a 1" loop along the bottom of your merged fabric.
Step 6.

Attach the sleeve portion with the 1" loop to the top, front of your shirt.
Step 7.

Thread your shoelace or chord through the 1" loop at the top of your shirt. We now have our halter!
Step 8.

Sew the back side of the top of your shirt down, below the arm holes, and straight across.
Ta-Da, that's it!! This should be your final product:

You may want to tailor the fit once you've completed steps 1-9 and if so, just sew up the back to the size you prefer. I am going to take an XXL men's shirt and do the same thing, but this time, make a dress... it'd be the cutest swimsuit cover-up! Hope you all enjoy!
