Welcome back to my only "normal" post for this week, but I think I've got to keep it going. I really enjoy your questions. Just a heads up, later toady, I'll be doing a Men's Sneak Peek, which will include both vintage and handmade items.
But now, lets get on with the post....
Q: Can you tell us a little about your handmade items? Are things made from scratch (ie bolts of fabric then make shirt) or do you buy shirts then modify them to your liking? Love all of them so far btw!
A: My handmade items are made from 100% recycled fabrics. So to answer your question, they are made from old shirts, skirts, dresses, etc, but completely re-designed by myself. I have made 8 shirts, all from recycled fabrics and only 2 of them are modifications of other shirts. I hope to eventually have a recycled fabric store available so I can create from bolts of fabric, but at this point, no luck so I work with what I've got.
Q: I just wanted to say that I am really sorry people are giving you a hard time on the effort you've put into your store. They are probably jealous at what you can achieve and how creative you are! Keep up the beautiful work!!
A: Thank you so much, I'm keeping my chin up and my head in the game. Haters can hate all they want, I won't stop what I love doing because it's not in agreement with them.
Q: you are so amazing and incredibly inspiring!! and you have such a wonderful personality. thank you for sharing a part of yourself with all of us, it means so much! ♥
A: Aw, it means so much to me, that you'd even say that. Even though the relationships I have with many of you, are online only, I still care deeply and treasure the connections that we've made. I'm inspired daily by what you are all doing and love watching people grow and evolve. It's a huge blessing to know I've got ya'll on my team.
Q: are you the only one in your family with tattoos?
A: Currently, yes. I'm working on it though... My mom almost got tattooed a few months back but she wasn't ready. I hope to get matching tattoos with my mom and sister before all is said and done.
Q:How do you want to die?
A: This is kind of a morbid question, but I am assuming you know me personally. Most of my friends and family have heard of a reoccurring dream I've had since I was about 4 years old. The dream to me is a beautiful nightmare that involves my death by drowning. I've been in so many underwater near-death situations so far in my life, I've almost accepted it. Who knows if this dream of mine will come true, but I find it strangely poetic that If I were to die at any age, that I would drift beneath the water's seablanket to my final rest. (Now you all think I'm crazy!)
Q: What is your last name?
A: Legally, my last name is Horton. I have been casually using my mother's maiden name, 'Dancer' since I was a Freshman in high school. To this day, many people know me only as Chelsea Dancer, and I do plan on changing my surname legally in the next few years to Dancer.
Q: Why do you post so many photos of yourself?
A: I hope it's not too bothersome. I think adding personal photos makes a connection with the viewer. Not to say "look at how lovely I am" but more so to show that I'm being honest on my blog and honest to you readers. Another reason is simply because I have to use myself as a model most the time, to represent the makeup look I'm re-creating or show how a DIY looks on an actual person (I do all blogging after work, so time is an issue as well). My etsy is filled with photos of myself modeling the clothes and accessories. I hope no one takes offense or thinks I'm incredibly vain, but you are entitled to your opinions of me.
Thank you all for your questions and support. I love hearing from you!
