{Wildcard Wednesday: Ford Times 1959}

I stumbled across this incredible set of illustrations from Ford Times November 1959 Issue. It's a stunning prediction of the future from those of the past. Can you believe this was a marketing strategy?? Artist Charles Harper painted these homes designed by Rudy Hermes as photomontage backdrops to introduce the 1960 Fords.
Isn't it just magical?!

{Sponsor Highlight: Blue Balloon}

Hello again, all! I'm here to recognize Blue Balloon, a lovely Seablanket blog sponsor. Miss Marie of The Blue Balloon has an incredible Etsy shop, full of dainty little jewelry treasures, photographs and handmade note cards. I'm a huge fan of her work, and you will be too! I asked Marie to tell all the readers of SB a little bit about herself and here's what she had to say:
My name is Marie, and i live in an awesome neighborhood in Milwaukee called Bay View. We're right on Lake Michigan, and the lake is one of my muses. My newest and most favorite muse is my son- i am a new mama and had my baby boy on new years day (though he was really due around christmas eve)!!
I stay at home with him and sneak in time for photography and etsy while he's napping or after he's in bed for the night. My shop started out as a place for photos, but soon i found myself making little stationery sets thanks to some supplies from my mother in law, and then resin pendants using my own photos. Then I discovered the vast world of charms, findings, lockets, ect and began making all sorts of trinkets. My favorite pieces to make are the lockets in which a tiny photo of my own is the focal point- I know they are unique and they have been a favorite with customers. I listed my first item a week after my last day of work last October and have been going strong since. I can't stop, I just love etsy and can't remember life before it! Between balancing my new life as a mother and my crafts, I am a very busy bee.
Thank you so much Marie for your support! Please view more from The Blue Balloon here!

{Tutorial Tuesday: Natural Jewelry Wall Treatment}

Happy Tuesday to you all! I've prepared a fun little diy project for you all today that's simple and super cute! If you've got :30 minutes and some loose jewelry, try out this natural jewelry holder - Snow White would be so proud! Supplies Needed:
Small branches with multiple branch limbs, drill and screws OR a hammer and nails, coarse sandpaper.
Directions:
First, find some small branches with two or three twigs on each. Sand the ends of each branch with your coarse sandpaper which will give each branch a nice polished finish. Hammer a hole into the bottom two inches from the bottom of your branch and start nails into each. Place on your wall in whatever direction you'd prefer, straight up and down, sideways or a mix of both. I finished the look by adding an antique wooden frame and placed a vintage fedora inside. You could also hang a cute shelf for perfume and mirror above it for a natural-vanity look.
Instead of paying for a jewelry holder at Urban Outfitters, make your own for less and get bonus points for originality!

{Manic Monday: Inspired by Mondrian}

You've all seen art by the notorious Piet Mondrain and his iconic 1930's "Composition II." With his modern use of clean lines and primary colors it's hard not to love his work. Today, I'm channeling his art and focusing on primary color blocking in my own wardrobe. Reds, yellows and blues are meant to be together, it's time we introduce them in our wardrobes! Below, you can see how I wore my primary colors and I've created some style tips to show how you can do it too! My Outfit:
{Vintage RayBans, Target Lace Top, Vintage Waistbelt, Vintage Red Pencil Skirt, Vintage Travel Bag, Candies Two-Toned Nylons, Wedge Booties by Kelsi Dagger}
I am in l-o-v-e with my new tights - Solid gray on the front, solid black on the backside. So fun!
Style Tips:
When trying to achieve color blocking, most important is to not look like a clown. Focus on clean and classic shapes while indulging in two or three colors at a time with white or black playing as a neutral. If you have red heels, dress them up with black nylons and a baby blue dress! Be playful and have fun with this look.... even spice it up with a neutral toned pattern that can accent the outfit!
This week is a busy one for me, but I am excited for everything ahead! Also, today is the last day to purchase October Ad//Sponsor Space for Seablanket; more info here.

{Sweet Sunday}

This week, I've got a full plate. My sister's getting married one week from today and the heat is on! This playlist is mostly rap/hip hop so if you're offended by slight language i'd persuade you to not listen; this is my disclaimer. Hope you all enjoy! Also - yes, swagger like us is my ringtone...and might I add the first song on the playlist was inspired by the newest addition to my tattoo collection:

Thank you for listening! Hope you all have a lovely day!
