{Please & Thank You: March 10th}

Hello Lovers! Welcome to my first installment of 'Please & Thank You,' a Q&A blog I'll be doing every Wednesday, answering questions you ask on my formspring! Lets get started, shall we!?

Q: I love your blog! Where do you come up with ideas for your tutorials?
A: Thank you!! I think most of my crafts begin with seeing something that I'm inspired by/want that I cannot afford. I will often think logically and say to myself "I can make this." The D.I.Y. Tutorials I post are generally focused on the kind of people who read my blog. I try to make the level of difficulty low, and always make something that is cute, and under 10 steps. I want my tutorials to be fun and exciting, not difficult and frustrating. Thanks for following! xo

Q: Did you go to college, if so, which one? - P.S, I heart your style.
Q: Did you go to uni or college? And what did you study?
A: (Same sort of question..I figured I'd answer them together) I did go to college. I attended Southern Oregon University for 5 Terms, and studied Theater and Art History. I was 17 at the time, and didn't feel I knew what to commit to, so I stopped going. I also went to Cosmetology School for a little while and soon found that it wasn't my niche either. I suppose I am one of those crazies who believes that college won't determine your success. I believe that having a goal and doing everything to get it, will. Success is what you make it. (Thanks for the sweet style compliment! xo)

Q: Do you think you could do more DIY crafts and stuff, i have a sewing machine at home and i love using it. Also, do you know of any website or magazine that has cool craft ideas?
A: I would l-o-v-e to do more DIY crafts each week, however it's a time issue for me. I have thought of posting the things I make for myself, as well as the Tuesday Tutorials. If you'd like that, let me know, and I'll be sure to do so! I've been tossing about the idea of creating my own DIY book of sorts. Maybe I will take it on as a Summer Challenge?
As for Websites/Magazines I know of...I really don't, to be honest. I always find wonderful inspiration on Etsy and Design*Sponge, HOWEVER, it's super important to not copy other people's work, so I often shy away from viewing others creations. That way, regardless, my work is my own, and not from the imagination of someone else.

Q: What do you want in life?
A: This is one loaded question.
In my Personal life, I'd like to build more solid friendships with people who I really connect with and who will have my back.
Materialistically, I'd really like to own a loft in some swanky part of a city. Preferably large enough to work from, if need be. I love to travel and try new things, and I l-o-v-e trying new food! I hope that I'll be able to accommodate all these desires, even modestly.
Professionally, I'm on the fence at the moment. Regardless of what I choose, I want to be a success in my industry. Not famous, but acknowledged and respected by my peers. I really enjoy the advertising industry, and all the creatives that go into it, while I adore sewing and am tempted to go in the boutique direction. Either way, It will take a lot of courage and patience, and more than anything a lot of hard work. I'm willing to commit to my career, as I will to a spouse. It's important to me to make a name for myself, and to prove myself worthy of everything I am given.

Q: Favorite shade of red lipstick?
A: For Day, I love Benefit's Benetint Lip Balm. It's a great stain for daytime and is soft enough in hue that I don't feel like a streetwalker wearing it. For Night, I love M.A.C. Viva Glam Lipstick in Viva Glam I. The color holds for hours and looks great from start to finish. If I'm feeling really daring I'll add some Benetint to the top of the Viva Glam for an ultra-glam look.

Q: Got one for you Chelsea, what/who first inspired you to start blogging? What keeps you doing it? And, what's your number one desert island album? (Yes, the third question relates in no way to the first two, just keeping you on your toes.)
A: I've always enjoyed reading blogs, but am a terrible writer myself. Last spring, I stumbled upon the community of online bloggers who are crafty and really enjoy the little things. It was exciting to know that I don't have to be a brilliant writer to get my point across. What keeps me blogging today is the kind of connections I've established via blogging. I've been introduced to a number of people I absolutely adore, and can't imagine not having them in my life now! I really love my readers, and appreciate all the feedback they give me.
As for the Desert Island album: I'd have a really hard time choosing between these two: Thrice - "Illusion of Safety" and Sigur Ros - "( )"

Q: If your dreams and goals come true, how will your life look in 5 years time?
A: This is a hard one!!! If my goals come true, I'd really like to be in a new city, and feel established. I'd love to write some craft books, one for the eco-nerd who loves to recycle and make things out of trash, and the other would be more crafting with fabrics, etc. I think that I'll be blogging for many years to come, maybe even create an online magazine with Art, Music and a Tutorial Section for home & Lifestyle. If my dreams come true, I'll be in a committed relationship, with a cute dog, and be happy. Simplicity is so underestimated. xo

Q: Would you think of putting a blog roll on your blog? Id love to exchange links with you if you did. :)
A: I've thought about it, but my blog reads change so frequently, I'm not sure If I could keep up with updating the list. I will attempt though, just for you:) Give me a week.

Q: What font did you use on the images for todays D.I.Y.? its really cool!
A: It's called Clutchee. I just found it, and love it!!

Q: Do you tip your tattoo artist? I was wondering if you're supposed to do that and if so how much?
A: I do tip my artist. Generally I tip $20-$60. Depends on how long my session is, but I think that tipping shows respect and appreciation for a job well done. I don't think it's expected, but it sure is appreciated. Think of it this way, you are able to tip Gas Station Attendants, Waiters, Bellhops and Taxi Cab Drivers, why would you NOT tip someone putting amazing art onto your body?!
