{Tutorial Tuesday: DIY Album Covered Handmade Notebook}

Thrift stores are full of Albums with awesome jackets and scratched up vinyl. This is a DIY for those albums. Most records are for sale for under $2, so grab a few, and makes cute notebooks!!

supplies needed:
1 album cover (lp cover)
12 pieces of paper, 12 x 12"
embroidery floss
1 embroidery needle
pencil/pen ( i show a pencil but used a sharpie)

Step 1. Fold your 12 x 12" paper in half. The irregular size perfect for list making, doodling, and journaling. Separate your folded paper into groups of 3, and place them
inside one-another so they form mini booklets. You will have 4 booklets in the end.
Step 2. Mark, using your pencil or sharpie, little dots either 2", 1" or 2..1..2..1..2" apart (that's what I did).
Step 3. Using your needle and embroidery thread, chain stitch through your holes, and loop around to cover all exposed sides. Tie off at the end, and leave the knot exposed, if you like.
Step 4. Stack your booklets. So cute!
Step 5. Using 1 booklet, position it on your record sleeve according to the image you want beneath it. 1/2 of the front cover works for both sides, or use the front and back covers. Mark around the booklet, and cut out your cover.
Step 6. Gather your covers with tied booklets together. Hold firmly or clamp in place. Mark on your covers the same holes you made in your booklets. Punch holes with your embroidery needle.
Step 7. Thread your embroidery needle and thread through one cover, and weave in and out of the booklet threads until you reach the other cover.
Step 8. Repeat on all cover holes until your journal is complete! Write your name on the inside cover following, "This homemade journal belongs to: "
Step 9. Toss in your bag and take it wherever you go.
I used the front and back of my vinyl album jacket to make my cover. Goodness I love Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music!

Hope you all enjoy this darling DIY!!
